Learning objects are new to me. i was trying to find some free resources to make research in the library. i did read a book which is Learning objects for instrction design and evaluation. The author is Pamelat T. Northrup. This book is very easy to read and understand it. I love it. It will help to deal with some design problems. Haughey and Muirhead(2005) suggest that "the value of a learning object is in the application to classroom settings and to online environments where teachers may or may not be present ." which means learning objects are instructional tools tha can be used in either setting. learning objects are used primarily to:
1. introduce new topics and skills
2. provide reinforcement to existing skills
3. Extend learning by providing new means for presenting curricular material
4. support new types of learning opportunities not available in a classroom environment.
There are some free resources which the teachers may select the learning object to support their classroom.
